A Countdown Deployment Box
So, if any of you saw my story on Instagram, or even the live I did you will see that I shared the October box I received from Becky who owns the Brave Crate. Brave Crates are created for deployments. In a way it is something to take your mind off of the deployment period, but at the same time it is to remind you that the days are drawing near when the deployment will be over.
If you would like to sign up for the box you can use my code BEFEARED to get $5 off!
The Box
Let’s start with the box. The box is bright pink and comes wrapped in plastic, so no one can rummage through it in the mail before it gets to you. Once you unwrap your box the very first thing you will see as you are opening the box is a card taped to the top. This card is a challenge card, and it is personalized to you. Each month there is a new challenge for you to complete. For example, this month it was to join the Facebook group books club to read through get financially naked.
Next there was a card about a live webinar about finance with the date and time listed on it. Along with that there was a handwritten note from Becky herself. This I really liked because I do not think many people do anything the old fashion way. It is always now over emails or texts saying thanks.
The next “card” you could call it showed the theme of the month “HUSTLE”. It then also told you steps to take: to open your box and see what’s inside and connect and share with others. Then if you open the card up it transforms into a deployment countdown calendar. On this calendar there are also special days with events already listed so you know when things are happening. At the bottom was a “To-Do” list and a “Goals” list where you could write things down. On the back of the calendar then was a chart of all the items in the box, and a little description of each item and why they were chosen.
Now I am not going to bore you with writing down each description, so I will briefly tell you what was in this box for the month of October. First, there was Medium Roast Coffee from a company called Classy Broads Coffee & Tea owned by a military spouse, and 100% made by women in Honduras. The next item was Bubbly Bath Salts. I mean for real who doesn’t love bath salts and bath bombs. Then there was a reusable and transferable laptop sticker that said, “Stay Humble Hustle Hard”, and a homecoming to do list. I thought the homecoming to do list is quite handy especially when you need to write something down to do before you forget it. It is just the right size to have on your counter tops or desk top.
The next two items go hand in hand I think. The whole months theme is about HUSTLE and staying motivated and getting your finances together. One of the last items was a mandala three section wallet. This wallet would allow you to keep your credit and debit cards and cash an anything else you keep in your wallet organized. And lastly there was the Get Financially Naked book. This book is basically about your finances how to manage and budget them and communicate with your spouse about them as well.
All in all, this is probably one of the better boxes I have received. The items in the box are not just some “cheap” items that someone just thought they could throw in there. Instead the items that Becky decided on were thoughtful and meaningful. Each item tied to the theme hustling and each item is an item that someone will actually use.
