If you ended up going to the San Diego County Fair this year you would know the theme was Oz. Also known as The Wizard of Oz, follow the yellow brick road, the wicked witch of the west, lions and tigers and bears oh my, you get it. Every year the county of San Diego hosts their annual County Fair at the Del Mar Fair Grounds. For about three weeks or so everyone’s days and nights are filled stuffing their faces full of fair food, listening to music, and zipping through rides! On top of that every Friday the Fair is open there is a concert. The concerts are FREE for everyone who bought an admission ticket to the County Fair, but also if you want closer seating to the band then you can upgrade your ticket for a rice.
This year there were artists like Pitbull, Air Supply, Justin Moore, Lindsey Stirling, Blink-182, and so many more other artists.
Many people also do not realize that every year (this year it was May 31st), the first day the Fair is open it is also usually FREE for ALL military as long as you have your ID’s. It is a great way to spend some time with your family and away from work too!
Many military members can get Fair tickets for around $17. However, if you are planning on going to the Fair for more than one day you might as well get the Season Pass for $32. There are also $6 Fair days where you can get your Fair tickets from Albertsons or Vons.
The Fair is also open during the 4th of July. Tickets on the 4th of July are more expensive however that day they have a Dinner Luau along with fireworks.
The San Diego County Fair is the perfect night out event. Whether you are wanting a family night out, a date night out, or even just a night out with fiends there is stuff for everyone. The kids have a kid zone full of age appropriate rides, while there is a more adult version of the rides in another zone. Plus there is also a petting zoo for the children as well. Then of course there is the food. Hundreds of different food vendors from milkshakes, to burgers, to turkey legs and my fair favorite funnel cakes. The San Diego County Fair offers so many different cultures of food, and all the pictures makes you want to try every single vendor there.
