I have the ability to take 9,000 pounds of household items to Japan for free…. however, I do not even think we have 9,000 pounds of items to take in the first place. Before, back in maybe 2013 ish, many people could only take 25% of the weight they rated, meaning if they had rated 9,000 pounds, they would only be allowed to take 2,250 pounds which in the end is not a whole lot if you have heavy furniture. Houses in Japan can also be very small. Most people also choose to live in an apartment (it is mandatory to live on base is space is available first, but they also have apartments). But I am opting to find a house out in town by the beach because I will have Zero with us. Most of the houses I have found are the same size of my current house and a lot of others are bigger. However, with that being said there is A LOT of items that I will be purging and not taking over there. Mainly what I get rid of I will replace with something else. For example my current plates would be sold to buy new plates that are a different style. Some items though just do not want anymore because I do not use it enough, like our fryer
